Gregg McCarthy is Corporate Executive Chef at Ray's Restaurants, overseeing all culinary operations for three Atlanta area restaurants, Ray's on the River, Ray's Killer Creek and Ray's in the City. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York, McCarthy joined Ray's Restaurants in 1995 as Executive Chef for landmark restaurant Ray's on the River. In 2002, McCarthy received accolades for his achievement in the reformation of Ray's menu. His exceptional culinary resume includes positions as Executive Sous Chef at Buckhead Life Group Restaurant, The Buckhead Diner in Atlanta, Sous Chef at The Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas, Texas, Chef at The 1761 Old Mill in Westminster, Massachusetts and Executive Sous Chef at The Old Ebbitt Grill in Washington, D.C. McCarthy has prepared meals for a host of dignitaries and well known during his career. While at The Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas, he assisted Chef Dean Fearing preparing the royal Queen of England dinner event. In 2003, McCarthy, achieved one of his highest honors by being guest chef at the famed James Beard House in New York City. He is involved in numerous community charities among them March of Dimes, The Foundation for Medically Fragile Children, and Share Our Strength. He shares his passion for food with the chefs of tomorrow in his role as Chef Coach of the Marietta High School Pro-Start Culinary Team. His efforts have led the Team to win the state championship for two consecutive years. McCarthy's culinary talent has been recognized by such media as "Great Chefs Series" on PBS, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Marietta Daily Journal, and most recently Nation's Restaurant Noticias, among others. McCarthy resides in Atlanta with his wife Audrey and two children Matthew and Christopher.
